Job description
Responsible to: Head of Communication
Communications Officer will be responsible for managing all marketing activities/events, internal/external communications online, in print, in person and in the media. He/she will be responsible for producing high-quality content and implementing effective communication strategies that engages customers and builds brand recognition. In consultation with the CFO, He/She will be in charge of preparing the marketing budget for approval.
The role will require the cooperation with and coordination across Admin, Operations, IT, Finance, and the Academic Coordinators to ensure a smooth workflow.
Marketing and Promotional Responsibilities:
- Organise and oversee promotional activities, both internal and external (recruitment videos, TV, newspapers, events, etc)
- Liaising with the Head Master and SLT, review and renew promotional literature to match the school’s needs (e.g. handbooks, leaflets, brochures, etc.)
- Manage the school’s social media platforms ( Website, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Wikipedia page, etc.)
- Document (photograph) internal events such as Assemblies and maintain an organised electronic database with photos of internal and external events
- Support the development of and adhere to BSU social media marketing plans and policies
- Aid the Head Master and Registrar in activities to attract new students to the school
- Create and maintain a database of BSU alumni; develop alumni engagement programmes and collect endorsements
- Prepare photographic presentations for internal and external media
- Compile and maintain an updated list of students whose parents have not granted photo/video release; ensure that photo and video footage of these students is not taken and shared on school’s promotional materials or elsewhere
Visits and Events:
- Support the Academic staff in organising external field and residential trips camps for team building and training purposes according to the existing policies, ensuring that risk assessment procedures are followed, bookings are made and secure, insurance is appropriate and all documentation is in place according to the relevant School policies
- Organise and oversee the organisation of major whole-school events introduced to the calendar including Opening Ceremony, Graduation, Open Day, the Winter Concert, Summer Fair, International Day, etc.
- Liaise with the Head Master and colleagues regarding the scheduling and organisation of school events
- Liaise and negotiate venues, hiring equipment and other logistical aspects relating to events, ensuring that they are adequately provided for
- Support the Academic Team in the organisation of Parents’ evenings and other community events
- Liaise with the Organisational Committee for the BSU Summer School, taking responsibility for specific marketing tasks as part of the promotion of the school
Internal Communications:
- To ensure the internal communications messaging and branding is consistent across all platforms and in line with external communication messaging.
- To keep parents updated with all necessary information the school provides and helping them meet their objectives.
External Communications (Customer Service):
- To define key performance indicators for each communications channel and their effectiveness
- To ensure that communications channels is consistent with the school's brand, including facebook page, website, and more
- Delivering a comprehensive service to enquiring customers
- Possibly delegating certain customer enquiries to specific teams
- Keeping a record of customer interaction and details of actions taken
- Create internal/external communications protocols and prepare the report for the Management team’s review.

Job requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- A relevant degree and qualification (BA and MA)
- Experience in relevant work and business environment for more than 2 years
- A passion for working in school environment and a commitment to being part of educating the whole child
- A high level of professionalism and strong interpersonal skills
- The high ability to speak and write both in English and Mongolian (IELTS 6.5 and/or higher
- Innovative
- Digital marketing skills
